When I was young, I often heard about miracles, and I have been blessed to experience many in my life. However, the most profound and wonderful miracle I ever encountered was during my Dad’s hospitalization. The memory of that day still brings tears to my eyes—not only because of the pain I witnessed my Dad enduring, but also because of the immense blessings God showered upon my family.
I vividly recall the day my Dad was admitted to the hospital, and the doctors informed us that they were unsure how long he would live. It was an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking situation for all of us, but we placed our trust in God, knowing that He would be with us through all the pain and uncertainty. Watching my Dad’s condition deteriorate and seeing the doctors losing hope was agonizing. I reached out to my friend, who rallied everyone in MFC to pray for my Dad. Prayers were pouring in from all corners, yet there seemed to be no improvement. I felt my Dad slipping away, and he uttered words that left a lasting impact, “Take care of Mom.”
During those trying moments, I sought guidance from Aunty Jenny, a MFC member, who consistently reminded me to trust in God. However, despite all the prayers, I was struggling to see any change. It was then that I was told I needed to surrender my Dad to God, for He knows what is best for him. The concept of surrender felt like indirectly telling God that I was okay with Him taking my Dad away from me. Reluctantly, with the support of those around me, I surrendered my Dad to God and prayed that His Will be done. This surrendering act led me to a powerful prayer, which strengthened my faith in God:
“Dear God, this daughter of Yours stands at Your feet with tears in her eyes, pleading for Your merciful hands to touch the hero of her life. For the world, You died, but for me, You’re still alive. Oh, Doctor of doctors, I come to You with tears and pain, but above all, I come with unwavering faith in You. Oh, Healer, restore him to health, for I trust in You more than anyone else. Do not prove me wrong; instead, make me strong. Let Your healing power bring joy to your sorrowful daughter by restoring my beloved Dad.”
Ultimately, God’s Will prevailed, and my Dad began to recover. Though it took time, we could witness the transformation in him. Yet, our challenges were not over, as new problems surfaced, and my Dad began feeling like a burden and lost the desire to live. Undeterred, we continued trusting God, and once again, He did not disappoint us; He pulled us through this situation as well.
Another hurdle presented itself when the doctors told us that my Dad needed a machine to assist him even after being discharged. Explaining to my Dad that this would be a lifelong need was challenging. However, God’s grace was evident once more, and my Dad accepted the situation. Initially, the doctors prescribed 12 hours of machine usage, but after a few weeks, it was reduced to eight hours, and now, it is only three hours in the afternoon and three hours at night. To look at him now, one would never guess the severity of his condition just weeks ago.
This life-altering incident taught me invaluable lessons: to trust in God unwaveringly and to have intense faith in Him. I learned that God has a unique plan for each of us, and everything happens according to His divine will. Surrendering our all to Him allows God to work wonders in our lives beyond our comprehension.
As I reflect on this miraculous journey, I am filled with gratitude and awe for God’s love and mercy. Our family’s experience reaffirmed our faith and strengthened our belief in the power of prayer. It is a testament to the profound impact of trusting God and surrendering everything into His loving hands. In every moment of uncertainty, let us remember that God’s plans are beyond our understanding, and when we place our lives entirely in His care, miracles can unfold.
