Consecrated to God

When Jesus went back to heaven, He left us to continue His work.
“As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world.” (John 17:18).
However, the scale is much greater now. But we need not fear the impending spiritual warfare as Christ has already made provisions for us. Christ constantly prays to the Father to protect us:
“Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me.” (John 17:11b).

"When I was with them, I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them were lost."

John 17:12a

We are consecrated in God’s word and truth as we proclaim it to the nations while also being consecrated in Christ Himself, which gives us the privilege of becoming His instruments:
“When I was with them, I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them were lost.” (John 17:12a)

We are now left to respond to this call and claim this protection as citizens of the Kingdom – called to a life of holiness. Knowing fully well that the world hates us, we should be prepared to show love while living in the truth of God’s word. We must stay firm for the cause of Christ and strive for unity with other Christians in the Spirit, despite disagreements.

As new evangelists, we are called to prepare for Christ’s second coming, remaining under God’s protection and rejoicing in the privilege given to us.
“I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one.” (John 17:15).

Let us begin the work with joyful and grateful hearts of new evangelization.
