Their fear during the storm, while Jesus slept, was reasonable given their professional expertise; they were not panicking at the sight of a few waves but recognizing the seriousness of their situation as experienced sailors facing sinking.

We understand very clearly through Christ’s genealogy that we did not choose Christ but that He chose us (John 15:16).
